Community Story Narratives
Where every story, sound, and observation becomes part of our collective learning.
Welcome to the digital heart of our Art Car Parade activation. Below are the five recording "stations" where our community has captured everything from dramatic readings to foley sound effects. Click any board to listen or contribute!
One Book, Many Voices
The Prompt: Reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown.
The Mission: Listen to different voices read the same story. How does a narrator's tone change the way we feel about Roz the robot?
Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud
The Prompt: Inspired by Journey by Aaron Becker.
The Mission: Aaron Becker’s Journey is a wordless masterpiece. Here, we add the "quiet parts"—the whispers, the internal dialogue, and the sounds of the imagination.
The "Fly-By" Narrative
The Prompt: Inspired by Fly! by Mark Teague.
The Mission: For the bird who doesn't want to follow the assignment. Use this board to capture stories of trying something new, failing, and eventually taking flight.
Read Without Rules
The Prompt: Inspired by Float by Daniel Miyares.
The Mission: There is no right or wrong way to read. This board is for abstract interpretations, wordless storytelling, and finding your own rhythm in the text.
The Boom-Box Foley Lab
The Prompt: Sound Effects & Engineered Audio.
The Mission: The "crunch" of gravel, the "whir" of a motor, the "thump" of a heartbeat. This is the home for the sounds our student-engineers created in the lab.
