Summer Studios at

ThinkerStudio

Where learning happens Joyfully.

Our Summer Studios are high-agency environments where art, science, and making are seamlessly integrated. Led by expert Artisans (teachers), students spend their time diving into their creative Work—utilizing our MakerStudio and our environment to design, prototype, and create.

Join us this June and July for a series of curated, small-group "Pop-Ups" and "Mini-Camps." These sessions will be held at our beloved original ThinkerStudio home-based maker studio—the birthplace of our model—as we prepare to transition to our new campus this August.

The Pop-Up Series (3 Hours)

Creative Writing & STEAM Inquiries

Before we pack up the makerspace, we’re hosting several high-impact, 3-hour deep dives. These are perfect for the student who wants to explore a complex idea, polish a narrative, or build a prototype in a familiar, focused environment.

Creative Writing Pop-Ups

The Writer’s Studio: Summer Pop-Up Series Every student has a story; our mission is to give them the tools to tell it. In these 3-hour intensive workshops, writers move beyond the basics of grammar and into the art of synthesis and self-expression. From "Flash Fiction" challenges to "Narrative Mapping," students will engage in the full creative cycle—drafting, refining, and preparing pieces for their digital portfolios. It’s not just a writing class; it’s a lab for the human voice.

STEAM Studio: Summer Inquiry Pop-Ups

Bring your blueprints and your curiosity. Our 3-hour STEAM Pop-Ups are designed for the student who loves to take things apart to see how they work. These high-energy sessions transform our home-lab into a prototyping studio where students tackle real-world engineering and science challenges. From kinetic builds and rapid prototyping to micro-ecology investigations in our restorative garden, students will synthesize data and build functional solutions. We don’t just follow instructions; we invent them.

Mini-Camp Series (2- Day or 4-Day)

Our multi-day Mini-Camps are designed for the student who wants to move beyond the surface level. Over the course of 2 or 4 days, our home-studio becomes a dedicated studio where young thinkers engage in sustained inquiry, complex builds, and collaborative synthesis. These camps are the heart of our Summer Bridge, offering an intimate environment where students can master durable skills—like data agency and creative communication—before we transition to our new Sugar Land campus.

The Writer’s Craft: Narrative & Synthesis Intensive

In this immersive workshop, students move from spark to manuscript. Leaving the specific theme open for instructor-led inspiration, this camp focuses on the mechanics of voice and the power of storytelling. Writers will spend their days drafting, peer-critiquing, and iterating their work, learning how to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives. Whether crafting speculative fiction, poetry, or digital essays, students will end the week with a "published" piece for their digital portfolio and a renewed sense of writerly agency.
