Raised in Harlem, New York, I grew up with a deep understanding that while the world is vast, strong communities are built through connection, care, and shared responsibility. That belief has guided every chapter of my life. Today, as a parent, homeschooling educator, and education advocate, I am deeply committed to child-centered, whole-person learning and to creating environments where families and communities can truly thrive.
I earned my undergraduate degree before completing a Master’s in Experimental Psychology, where I studied human development, behavior, and research design. That academic foundation led me toward a broader exploration of holistic health and wellness, particularly how physical, emotional, and environmental factors shape a child’s ability to learn and grow. This path took me to Los Angeles, where I received hands-on training in plant-based culinary arts and worked for many years as a private chef and within wellness spas and retreats. Serving individuals and families navigating health challenges gave me a front-row view of the powerful connection between nutrition, wellbeing, and human development.
After becoming a mother, I experienced firsthand how limited traditional educational options can be for families seeking more holistic, flexible, and developmentally responsive learning environments. Homeschooling allowed my family the freedom to explore diverse curricula, including Waldorf-inspired and play-based approaches that support creativity, emotional intelligence, and a lifelong love of learning.
I strongly support the mission of Learning Blueprint School and its commitment to preparing students for both academic success and meaningful participation in the world. My background in psychology, wellness, and family-centered education, along with my ability to identify and connect local resources, positions me to contribute thoughtfully and strategically as a board member.
I am committed to helping build a school community where Houston families feel supported, children are seen as whole people, and education is rooted in both excellence and care. We are shaping the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators, and I am honored to be part of that work.

My journey to founding Learning Blueprint Community Schools is deeply personal. Growing up in a low-socioeconomic community here in Texas, I often felt invisible in a one-size-fits-all system that wasn't designed to see my potential. That experience sparked a lifelong mission: to build the kind of supportive, empowering school I never had—one where every single child is seen, heard, and valued.
This mission has been the driving force behind my 20+ year career as an educator. My path has been anything but traditional. From teaching in high-need schools in Alief ISD to designing hands-on, inquiry-based exhibits at the Children's Museum of Houston, I have always sought out ways to make learning joyful and relevant. I later founded a STEAM-focused creative studio, where I saw firsthand the incredible focus and creativity children display when they are given the agency to build and explore.
Perhaps my most profound "lab school" experience, however, was homeschooling my own children. Seeing the explosive growth that is possible when education is built around a child's natural curiosity and passions solidified my educational philosophy. I am now channeling all of these experiences—as a classroom teacher, a museum designer, a founder, and a mother—into the design of this school.
Currently a candidate in Rice University's Principal Certification Program, I am committed to building a new blueprint for public education in Houston—creating a joyful, equitable, and hands-on learning ecosystem for the children and families who need it most.
