Homeschool Enrichment Artisan (Part-Time)
Organization: Learning Blueprint ThinkerStudio
Reports To: Executive Director / Director of Curriculum & Instruction (DCI)
Start Date: Fall 2026 (Operational Expansion)
Status: Part-Time (Budgeted at $30,000 | 4 Days/Week)
Position Overview
The Homeschool Enrichment Artisan is the lead facilitator for our specialized hybrid and afternoon sessions. At ThinkerStudio, we believe homeschool families deserve access to high-level technical equipment, collaborative social environments, and expert-led inquiry that is difficult to replicate at home.
In this role, you will design and lead Expert Arcs—8-week deep-dive workshops that allow students to master specific crafts, scientific concepts, or creative disciplines. You are a mentor who thrives in a multi-age environment, guiding students as they transition from curious explorers to confident makers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inquiry & Expert Arc Design
Workshop Facilitation: Lead 4-day-a-week enrichment sessions for homeschool students (K–6), focusing on hands-on, project-based learning.
Curriculum Innovation: Develop 8-week inquiry cycles based on student interest and your own areas of technical mastery (e.g., ecology, narrative podcasting, structural engineering, or digital art).
Maker Mentorship: Provide direct instruction on the safe and creative use of studio tools, from the woodshop and water channels to the digital design lab.
2. Documentation & Community
Visible Learning: Document the Expert Arc process through photos and student reflections, sharing the journey with homeschool families via our digital portfolio platforms.
Community Connection: Act as the primary point of contact for our homeschool village, ensuring families feel connected to the broader ThinkerStudio mission and Maker Market events.
Showcase Coordination: Help students prepare their projects for community showcases, emphasizing the Durable Skills they developed during their 8-week cycle.
3. Studio Stewardship
Environment Maintenance: Ensure the studio and maker spaces are reset and ready for high-level inquiry each day.
Safety & Supervision: Maintain rigorous safety standards within the studio, ensuring all students are supported as they take creative risks.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Fine Arts, Science, or a related field; OR equivalent professional experience as a practicing artisan/specialist.
Experience: * Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with children in non-traditional educational settings (e.g., museums, maker spaces, forest schools, or homeschool cooperatives).
Proven ability to manage multi-age cohorts (K–6) effectively.
Skills: * Mastery in at least one technical or creative craft (e.g., coding, gardening, carpentry, textiles, or scientific inquiry).
Strong organizational skills to manage 8-week project cycles.
Founding Mindsets
Radical Trust in Children: You believe that students are the primary drivers of their own learning and deserve high-quality tools and trust.
The "Player-Coach" Spirit: You are a lifelong learner who finds joy in the "messy" process of discovery alongside your students.
Restorative Heart: A belief that culture is built through relationships. You approach classroom dynamics and staff interactions with a restorative lens.
Entrepreneurial Agility: You thrive in a "startup" environment and enjoy the flexibility of a growing microschool.
Compensation & Schedule
Salary: Budgeted at $30,000 annually.
Schedule: Part-Time (Monday–Thursday). This role aligns with the 8-week session calendar of the ThinkerStudio Homeschool Enrichment program.
Benefits: This is a part-time position; specific benefits eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
